The two bestest cousins ever. Felicia and Jayden spent a few hours with Maria, Davis and Daphne (or Daffy as Baylee calls her). I just really like the expressions on their faces. It looks like Daphne let one rip and Jayden got disgusted, so Daphne just looks at her as if to say "Don't act like yours don't stink!"

Fun at the Park!
I'm trying to get Jayden out and about so I took her to the park that is just across the street. She loved sitting by herself (finally!) and playing with her toys! The only problem: ANTS! Other than the pesky ants, we had a lot of fun. Jayden lasted for about an hour just sitting there playing then it was nap time. . . for her and mommy! :)

It's. . . .SHOWER TIME!
Today Jayden took her first shower! I thought that she would be terrified of the water!
Quentin and I took her to the pool with her Aunt Kelly and cousin Baylee last week. The pool has this play set in the middle of the pool that kids can play on. I decided it might be fun to take Jayden to the shower-like part just to see what she would do. What I didn't realize was that a bell sounded to let people know that a big bucket full of water was going to dump water all over the playset. So, right as Jayden and I are running through the shower (obviously I was running since Jayden is only six months!) the bucket dumps on top of us! Oh boy did we have a mad baby on our hands! I sheepishly looked around me as people just watched.
Anyway, because of this incedent I thought Jayden would hate the shower, but she loved it! She kept trying to catch the water, and when I starting pouring water on her with a cup, she automatically put it to her mouth to take a drink. :) From now on I think we'll be having shower time instead of bath time!

Peaches!
This morning, I decided to give Jayden some peaches. Usually she'll eat them without making a fuss, but today was totally different! I gave her a couple of bites, and then all of a sudden she started making really funny faces as if to say, "Mom! This stuff is really ugh"! Guess I know now not to buy anymore peaches! :)

Meeting the Fam
Since I'm too lazy to set up my own blog (sorry Karen! :-)), and since all of you already know that Quentin has one, though he never writes about anything, I decided to use his blog to write my thoughts on when I first met the Boyle family.
At this time I had know Quentin for almost a year. He had always talked about me going to the Valley with him to hang out. In June I finally had a weekend off from work. Quentin was planning to go to the Valley so I called him up and asked if I could go with him just to get out of Thatcher. He will tell you that I TOLD him that I was going, but I didn't. :)
I can't remember but I think that I had to work mid-shift the Friday that we left so we didn't leave Thatcher until about seven o'clock. This was the weekend that Maria and Jake were at a resort so Quentin and I stayed at their condo in Mesa. Jake sent Quentin and I on a scavenger hunt for the key to the condo, just like him. LOL When we finally found the key and went inside the house, we found a letter from Jacob waiting for us. I don't remember what the whole letter entailed; all I remember is the last sentence read something along the lines of, "No making out on the couches!" In my head, I just laughed because Quentin and I were just really good friends and that was never something him and I would do. We then got ready for bed.
We woke up the next morning and Quentin informed me that his older brother John and his sister-in-law Kelly were laying sod in their backyard. He asked if I was okay with the idea of going over there. I was totally fine with it! I was really curious to meet Quentin's family; I had heard so much about everyone and was really looking forward to finally putting names with faces.
We pulled up to John and Kelly's house and I started to get nervous. I thought to myself," Why are you so nervous Felicia!? It's not like you're dating Quentin and you have to make a good impression!" I got to meet Kelly, Baylee, Quentin's niece, and Karen, his mother, for the first time. I had already met John once when I took Quentin to Globe.
We all then started working on putting the sod in the backard. I was kind of surprised that they did not expect me to help with the manual labor; I had no problem helping out. Being the oldest of five, I was used to working in the yard on Saturday mornings. I remember going back in the house a couple of house after we had started working and talking in the kitchen with Karen and Kelly. I don't know how the subject was brought up, but we started talking about the Boyle boys. Both Kelly and Karen told me that I had nothing to worry about with Quentin. He was the Boyle boy that never really complained about anything. To this comment I remember thinking, " Well this is kind of awkward! Here I am not even dating Quentin and his family is talking to me about how easy it would be to get along with Quentin!" In a way this freaked me out! Could I really see myself with Quentin? Hmm. . . . there's an idea. . . We spent the rest of the day at John and Kelly's swimming and having a good ol' time.
I'm trying to think back and remember when I met Mia, TJei, and Jodie but I can't remember! I think that it might have been this same Saturday but I'm not too sure. What I do remember is waking up Sunday morning and getting ready to go eat brunch with John, Kelly, Baylee, Karen, and TJei. When Quentin and I were getting ready to leave Jake and Maria's, they walked in the door from the resort. Heading out the door, I remember Jacob asking me how long I had been dating Quentin and exactly what I saw in his little brother. I quickly replied, "I'm not dating Quentin." Jake's response, "Sure." We dropped off Quentin's truck at his aunt's house and rode with Karen and TJei to go eat brunch. After we finished eating, we headed back to pick Quentin's truck up so he and I could head back to Thatcher. Quentin stopped at a gas station so that we all could get drinks. I was holding TJei's hand when we walked in the store. I remember looking at TJei and Quentin while thinking, " You know TJei has blond hair and blue eyes like Quentin and her hair is curly like mine. Someone is going to say something!" Sure enough while checking out a man looks at TJei and asks her if her hair was naturally curly or if her mom (me!) curled it. Me not knowing what to say stared at him blankly. Quentin informed him that it was naturally curly. We get our drinks and walk out; I start laughing and let Quentin know that I had a feeling someone was going to mention that we looked like a little family.
I had always has a crush on Quentin and I knew that he like me, but the whole time that we had been friends I never really considered seeing if him and I were ever more than that. The weekend that I got to spend with his family made me realize that I really cared for Quentin. It took me another month to finally decide that I was okay with the idea of dating him. A day before he left for Ohio we started dating. :) I love Quentin so much and am grateful that he is a art of my life. He means the world to me! Thank you so much to everyone in his family for being so nice and loving. You guys were the ones that helped me realize just how much Quentin meant to me. Kind of sad it took meeting the family to realize this; usually you fall in love then meet the family. That wasn't the case this time! Again, thank you for everything! I love you guys!

Burgundy Slippers
I am sorry John and Kelly and especially Baylee for missing what seems to have been a fun and exciting weekend for Baylee. This past weekend i spent with Felicia and her family in Las Cruces NM for her mother's birthday. It was fun, but i really haven't been more scared in all my life. The week prior to the trip, Felicia had to check with her father to make sure that it was ok with him that i stayed there at their house. She procrastinated till the last minute, which made me worry, I mean if she was afraid to ask promptly then its obvious that he wouldn't be to keen on the idea. Well she did call and he said yes, but he also said on one condition, that we sit down with him and her mother for a talk. that was the part that scared me. the entire trip i was fretting the point when he would sit us down and have a heart to heart to ask me what my intentions were with his daughter and grade me to see if im worthy to be dating his daughter. all i can say is i was scared very much badly.
Well we get to Las Cruces and we sit around talking about how the trip was and they started to talk about events in the past and all that jazz. I dodged a bullet the first night were my thoughts as i finally was able to lay down on the new air mattress they had purchased for the occasion. i woke up bright and early saturday to the sounds of Felicia's little brothers running around shooting each other with imaginary guns. Her dad soon came out and started cooking breakfast. once again i got intimidated cause it was one on one time with him as i sat at the counter talking to him. it seemed as though he was interviewing me for a job. he was real professional like asking me what i was going to school for and about past experiences like about my mission and things. it wasn't too bad though, he is a really good guy. breakfast was made and ready around 10:30 so Felicia finally rolls out of bed. of course she only wakes up because there is food ready. she came out of the room looking like she had just barely slept 3 hours or something. she looked like she was still asleep for 30 minutes after waking up.
We sat around her house for most of the day, i got a chance to get to know her siblings a little bit better. we then went out to the mall so Felicia could do her routine. long story short we shopped for awhile then on our way home we stopped off and got an ice cream cake from cold stone creamery for her mom. when we got back her parents were busy getting things ready for dinner. we had a combination of mom and dad's favorite foods. crab legs for mom and chile rellenos for dad. this was the moment i was dreading for awhile now. as things got closer to dinner time, her dad shooed the rug rats out to play in the back yard. he then closed and locked the door behind them. uh oh. i knew what was happening. it doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize the situation. well i knew it was coming and i had a few general responses already thought out in my mind for questions i was sure they were going to ask me.
We settle in our chairs, it was very intimidating to me. Felicia and I sat at one end of the table and her parents sat at the very other end. we load our plates up with food, i was too nervous though so i just grabbed a little not really thinking much about food at the time. aaaahhhhh what a relief. it was nothing what i had anticipated. they were really cool and relaxed and let us know that no matter what our decisions on the future would be that we had their support and that they werent going to interfer with them. i really appreciated that. he made me feel like we were some what of intelligent beings that could kind of make our own decisions. all in all it was a good trip, the worries, the anticipations, the excitement of meeting new people, then the relief of the actual talk. it was a good trip.
